Howard Consulting Group (HCG), a Washington, D.C. based public affairs firm, announced the promotions of former RNC all-star communicator Dan Ronayne to Vice President, Erin Thurston to Account Manager, and Erica Hiar and Erin Oldfield each to Account Executive. The firm also has added two new clients: the Partnership to Fight Chronic Disease (PFCD) and 24 Hours of Booty, a charity cycling event in Columbia, Md. benefiting the Lance Armstrong Foundation. PFCD is a national coalition of hundreds of patient, provider, community, business and labor groups, and health policy experts, committed to raising awareness of the number one cause of death, disability, and rising health care costs in the U.S.: chronic disease. '24 Hours of Booty' is the official 24-hour charity cycling event of the Lance Armstrong Foundation taking place in Columbia, Md. August 28-29.

Howard Consulting Group, a D.C.-based public affairs and communications firm, has promoted two of its own: John Marchant, who will serve as managing director of public affairs, and Erica Hiar, now an associate. Marchant worked as Wisconsin state field director for the 2004 Democratic campaign organization America Coming Together. Hiar worked for the 2008 Obama campaign in Michigan and North Carolina. Howard Consulting Group is headed by Frank Howard Jr., a former Republican National Committee staffer who worked on a number of presidential campaigns. The firm's Washington office also includes Erin Thurston, a former aide to Rep. Jay Inslee, D-Wash. and Erin Oldfield, formerly with Rep. Dave Loebsack, D-Iowa, and Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash.

Marchant has been with the firm since 2007, overseeing the public affairs team and grassroots advocacy programs.

Erica Hiar has also been promoted to associate for the group.

John Marchant has been promoted to managing director of public affairs at Howard Consulting Group Inc. He was senior director of public affairs. Previously, Marchant was a project manager for Saint Consulting Group.

Erica Hiar has been promoted to associate at Howard Consulting Group. She has been serving as project associate. Hiar organized voter contact for Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign and ran offices in Michigan and North Carolina.
